Lawyer List 7 Courses ‘Poor’ People ‘Seeking Breakthrough’ Should ‘Avoid Studying’

Renowned Nigerian lawyer and social commentator, Martin Beck Nworah, has sparked debate with his recent advice to young Nigerians from low-income backgrounds. In a thought-provoking social media post, he outlined seven university courses he believes financially struggling individuals should avoid if they are seeking a rapid economic breakthrough.

According to Nworah, certain fields of study may not provide quick financial stability, making them less suitable for those who cannot afford to wait years for career success.

His remarks have since generated mixed reactions, with some agreeing with his perspective while others argue that passion and dedication can lead to success in any field.

He writes:

1. Archeology: There are limited job opportunities and low pay. Even areas you’re supposed to work and research on have been converted to real estate.

If you go deeper inside some villages or areas for research, dem fit kidnap you.

2. Fine Arts: This is a highly competitive field with limited job openings. It is hard to make a living, and you may end up painting celebrities and waiting for when they’ll post you so you can blow.

You can open up your page or studio and use social media to promote your works.

3. Music: Challenging to secure stable, well-paying jobs. Shallipopi, Speed Darlington and Portable have better chances of success.

Unless you plan to go into music management, which isn’t easy too or have a church to nurture and grow in, read a STEM course instead.

4. Theater Arts: Limited job opportunities and low pay. Excellent skills if you plan to go solo and build your brand. But it will be challenging to get a job. This is why many actors are famous but broke.

5. Philosophy: There are few job openings, mostly in academia. Otherwise, you will be at newspaper joints arguing with my fellow kaikai members.

Before you pour me spit, tell us if you’re using your philosophy certificate to work. This is outside those in religious establishments.

6. History: Limited job opportunities, primarily in education or research. We have forgotten what Buhari did less than 5 years ago.

Shebi you have been screaming, “Let bygone be bygone”. So wetin you wan use history do for this country? Use the brain and study a STEM course.

7. Sociology and Anthropology: Limited job opportunities, primarily in research or non-profit. By your 3rd year, you will be asking yourself serious questions about what you have been doing with your time in school.

Soon you will enter SUG, from there to NANS and refuse to graduate. Anywhere there is problem with the students union in that school across the country, you will be there speaking kaikai grammar and greatest gbagba.
