* The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 1,525 personnel to safeguard lives and forestall vandalism of critical national, state and local government assets in line with the recently launched joint Operation Udo ga chi Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.

In a press statement released by the Head, Media and Tactical, SC Okadigbo Edwin, Anambra NSCDC State Commandant, Maku Olatunde gave the directive through elaborate operational order at the command’s tactical digest held on Wednesday, April 16 2025 at the State Command Headquarters Awka.

Commandant Maku charged Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations and Composite Commanders to adequately deploy assets and personnel to cover all places of worship, recreational centers, amusement parks, markets, flashpoints, black spots and other vulnerable areas including critical national state and local government assets towards ensuring an incident free Easter celebration and beyond.

* A delegation of stakeholders from Oba Satellite City Estate has paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Idemili South LGA, Hon. Amaka Obi to foster a working relationship and discuss matters of mutual interest.

The stakeholders expressed their appreciation for the Mayor’s initiative and pledged to support the local government’s efforts in promoting skills acquisition and economic development. They also discussed potential collaboration opportunities between the estate and the local government, focusing on areas such as health, roads, schools, security, and community development.

Hon. Amaka Obi thanked the stakeholders for their visit and assured them of her commitment to working together to address the needs and concerns of the community. The visit marked a significant step towards strengthening the relationship between the local government and the Oba Satellite City Estate community.

* Gemstone Table Water Industry, cited at Abidi village, Umuoji in Idemili North Council Area, which produces 60cl, 75cl, 150cl, dispenser bottles and satchet water, has been officially launched.

Addressing the people during the event, the owner of the industry and a notable son of Umuoji, Mr Okechukwu Nwachukwu, explained that the water industry cited in Umuoji was not just to create employment and generate revenue, rather to improve health as the machines in the industry are fully automated to prevent too much of human contact to ensure standard.

Chief Nwachukwu further explained that they produce their bottles and caps which is customized with a technology where the manufacturing date and the rest is coded at the cap, encouraged people to patronize and drink the water with confidence.

* The Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, has officially flagged off preparations for the much-anticipated Njikoka Football Tournament with the distribution of home and away jerseys to all participating towns across the LGA.

The Mayor while speaking maintained that the initiative is a step toward fostering unity, promoting youth talent, and deepening community engagement through sports.

Hon. Ononiba noted that the initiative also aligns with the broader vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in building a liveable, prosperous, and youth-inclusive Anambra.

* The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Anambra State Command has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Department of State Services (DSS) particularly in intelligence sharing in addressing the complexities of security challenges across the state.

This was the main thrust of the discussion between the newly deployed State Director of Security, Department of State Services (DSS) Mr. Victor Akeh and the NSCDC Anambra State Commandant, Maku Olatunde in Awka on a courtesy visit.

Comdt. Maku warmly welcomed the Director and his entourage, expressing his pleasure with the visit, he chronicled the history of collaboration between the NSCDC and the DSS, adding that inter- agency collaboration was key in combating threats posed by criminal elements affecting the peace and stability of the state.

In his address, Mr. Victor Akeh, the DSS State boss said his visit was to familiarize himself with the NSCDC towards strengthening the already existing collaboration between the two agencies.

* The commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Ahamba says
Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Anambra State Council, has been listed to benefit from the one youth two skills initiative of Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.

Ahamba announced this in his office in Awka, when a delegation of the NUJ paid a courtesy visit.

The Commissioner maintained that NUJ was captured under existing business category where their capacities would be built for expansion and job creation.

In his speech, the chairman of NUJ, Anambra State Council, Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, noted that the visit was aimed at seeking for partnership with the ministry in the areas of capacity building and empowerment.

The NUJ boss passionately appealing for the holistic training of Anambra State UNJ members, saying that when a youth is progressing, other youths are progressing along.

* The Local Government Chairman of Idemili North, Hon Stanley Nkwoka has urged residents and business owners within the area to cooperate with the revenue workers as they commence the much awaited Digital Revenue Enumeration, Capturing and Collection.

According to a press release signed by the Mayor Nkwoka Idemili North Local Government Council is hereby informing all business owners, companies, hoteliers, traders and industries within area that the Internal Generated Revenue IGR Enumeration team are going around the various streets and communities.

“The IGR team will be going around to create Anambra State Identification Number for Business owners within the zone known as ‘ASIN number’. They will
also come with POS machine to Digitally register you and collect LG revenue via Pay Direct system. I

* A delegation of the women leaders of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), from the twelve political in the council area paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Idemili South LGA, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi.

During the visit, the women expressed their unwavering support for Mrs. Obi’s leadership and Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, citing their commitment to empowering women and promoting inclusive governance.

Mrs. Obi, in her response, thanked the women for their solidarity and assured them of her unwavering commitment to working tirelessly for the betterment of IDSLGA. She highlighted the importance of women’s participation in governance and decision-making processes, emphasizing that their contributions are crucial to the state’s progress.

* The Mayor of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon Stanley Nkwoka has commended the Local Government Service workers under the auspices of ‘Solution Vanguard’ for their resolution and strategic plans to vote for Governor Chukwuma Soludo come November 8, 2025 for a second term in office.

Addressing Idemili North LGA workers with the Solution Vanguard State/National team during a strategic meeting at INLGA Secretariat Ogidi, Nkwoka said he was elated that for the first time workers who were known to be apolitical decided to come together without being coerced to speak out that they would not only vote for the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State who has outshined his predecessors in delivering Good Governance but were willing to go extra mile to compel others to vote him into office for a second term.

According to one of the Solution Vanguard’s National Coordinators, BOT, Hon Azubike Okoye, Soludo has received Best Governor SUN and Vanguard’ Newspapers awards for Good Governance. So, because of the good job Prof. Soludo is doing workers in the Local Government Service Commission kept disturbing us that they will form a formidable group ‘Solution Vanguard’ to support his re-election.

* The Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council (ASTRC), His Royal Majesty Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III of Obosi Ukwalla Kingdom) has called for restraint on the killing of Sixteen (16) Northerners tagged hunters at Uromi, Edo State urging the Federal Government to find lasting solution to Herders clashes with Farmers which has both local and national consequences on Nigerian citizens.

The Monarch made the call while addressing newsmen in his Palace, describing the Uromi killings as unfortunate and condemnable.

The Royal Father pleaded with the federal government to find a lasting and permanent solution to crisis between herders and farmers which according to him has led to the killings of many Nigerians across the country.

According to him, the Federal government should as a matter of urgency find lasting and permanent solution to the crisis between herders and farmers because many precious lives have been lost across the country. Farmers don’t go to their farm anymore because of fear of killer herdsmen”
