Military Veterans Team Up With Police To Curb Crime, Improve Security In Anambra

The Nigerian Legion Anambra State Council (NLASC), Military Veterans,
has initiated stronger ties with the Nigeria Police Force at Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo. Dunukofia local government area.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the delegation led by the State Commandant of the Legion, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Benedict Ezeaku Agbogu, paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 13, AIG Peter Oladipo Abayomi

The delegation also included senior military veterans such as the Council Secretary, Captain Mike Onwudinjo KSJI, MNSE.

Speaking during the meeting, ACG. Agbogu commended AIG Abayomi’s strategic leadership and tireless efforts in combating crime across the Zone. He noted that the veterans were eager to contribute their wealth of experience toward enhancing security, particularly in intelligence gathering and community engagement.

Responding, AIG Abayomi warmly welcomed the veterans and praised their patriotic commitment. He described them as “invaluable national assets” whose expertise can greatly reinforce the existing security framework.

The AIG assured them of full cooperation, urging them to channel their efforts through lawful operations while playing a critical role in intelligence sharing.

The courtesy visit ended on a strong note, with both the Police and the Nigerian Legion reaffirming their shared dedication to curbing violent crimes, improving public safety, and ensuring peace across Anambra State and the Zone 13 area.
