NECO Releases Results of 2025 SSCE

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal results, 54 days after the last paper.

Announcing the results in Minna, Registrar Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi said 1,358,339 candidates sat for the exam, out of which 818,492 (60.26%) scored five credits and above, including English and Mathematics.

A total of 1,144,496 candidates (84.26%) obtained five credits and above irrespective of both subjects.

ANN reports that According to Wushishi, Of the 1,622 special needs candidates, 1,132 had hearing impairment while 191 had visual impairment. Cases of malpractice dropped to 3,878 from 10,094 in 2024, representing a 61.58% reduction.

However, 38 schools were involved in mass cheating across 13 states, while nine supervisors were recommended for blacklisting.

He also said the Examinations in eight schools in Lamorde LGA, Adamawa State, were disrupted by communal clashes, affecting 13 subjects and 29 papers adding that NECO is in talks with the state government to reschedule them.

On state performance, Kano topped with 68,159 candidates securing five credits including English and Mathematics, followed by Lagos (67,007) and Oyo (48,742). The least performing centre was Gabon, with no candidate meeting the benchmark.
