As the November 8th 2025 Anambra Governorship Election, Ekwulọbịa community in Aguata local government area has endorsed the candidacy of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo with eighty million naira support.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that a cheque was presented to the Governor, alongside his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim at a rally in Ekwulọbịa Stadium on Saturday, October 4th 2025.
In his speech the Governor expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating that the campaign has now transformed into a people’s movement, noting that Jim Nwobodo had designated Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulọbịa as city-status locations, but it seemed Ekwulọbịa was overlooked along the way.
Soludo emphasized the need for serious planning for Ekwulọbịa to truly achieve city status and proposed the establishment of a committee focused on town planning.
In terms of trade, he made it clear that petty traders should no longer be targeted for collection, warning that any violators would face arrest and reaffirmed a commitment to free education and free antenatal care and delivery services, among other services for the underprivileged.
In his remark, a stakeholder in the community, Chief Joseph Okafor praised the Governor for performing wonders across the state in just three years, just as the Mayor of Aguata local government area, Dr. Chibueze Offorbike, Chief Titus Anagbogu, among others, promised to beef up support for the Governor, and ensure that he wins the November eight governorship election.
