ANSAA Joins Global Community To Mark 2025 White Cane Campaign

The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) has joined the global community in commemorating the 2025 White Cane Campaign, an annual event aimed at promoting independence, accessibility, and public awareness for persons with visual impairment.

The 2025 edition with the theme; “Our Cane, Our Freedom,” held at All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha and brought together the Managing Director of ANSAA, Mr. Odili Ujubuonu; Chief Executive Officer of GUO Motors, Chief Godwin Okeke; representatives of Tiger Foods Limited, the National Association of Seadogs, and the National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Ujubuonu appreciated ANSAA’s partners for their continuous support, noting that individuals and organisations who fulfill their ANSAA obligations are indirectly contributing to life-changing initiatives such as the White Cane Campaign.

He further explained that the initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of building an inclusive Anambra where no citizen is left behind.

The National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter, led by Mr Ernest Okammelu thanked ANSAA for consistently supporting their empowerment through the provision of assistive devices, while also commending Governor Soludo’s inclusive policies and partners’ continued collaboration with the blind community.

In their separate speeches, Chief Godwin Okeke of GUO Motors, alongside representatives of Tiger Foods, Romanchi Properties, and other partners, applauded ANSAA’s commitment to promoting inclusion and empowerment for persons with visual impairment, pledging continued support for future editions of the campaign.

A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of specially designed white canes with rotating tips, typewriters, and reams of A4 paper by Mr. Ujubuonu on behalf of ANSAA to assist members of the visually impaired community across the state.

Presentation of awards for humanitarian services by the National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter, was part of the day’s highlights.
