Njikoka Stakeholders Elects ‘Okakpu’ As Local Gov’t Chairman Candidate

Stakeholders of Njikoka Local Government Area has elected a new mayor following a keenly contested election that drew community leaders, party representatives, and observers from across the area.

The Returning Officer, Chinwe Okoli, officially declared Ikechukwu Okakpu as the winner of the election after the final collation of votes.

According to the official results, Ikechukwu Okakpu, secured the majority of valid votes cast, emerging victorious in the exercise.

In her declaration, Okoli commended stakeholders for conducting themselves peacefully and urged all parties to work together in the interest of Njikoka’s development. She emphasized that the credibility of the process reflected the commitment of the stakeholders to transparency and unity.

The newly elected mayor, Hon. Ikechukwu Okakpu, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him.

Okakpu pledged to prioritize grassroots development, infrastructural improvement, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance throughout his tenure.

Community leaders present at the event described the election as a significant step toward strengthening participatory leadership within Njikoka. They called on all aspirants and their supporters to rally behind the new administration to ensure sustained peace and progress in the area.

In his remark, the incumbent Mayor, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for his support. He also appreciated The Chief of Staff, Hon. Chinedu Nkwoye (Glamour) for his service and dedication to the progress of Njikoka. He urged party faithful to support Hon. Ikechukwu Okakpu the incoming mayor.
