Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman came off the bench to register an assist as Atletico Madrid defeated Club Brugge 4-1 on Tuesday, securing a 7-4 aggregate victory and progress in the UEFA Champions League knockout playoff round.

Lookman replaced Alex Baena in the 70th minute at the Metropolitano Stadium and six minutes later teed up Alexander Sørloth for Atletico’s third goal of the night, helping the Spanish side seal qualification for the last 16.

Sørloth completed a hat-trick, while Johnny Cardoso scored the other goal for the hosts. Club Brugge’s lone reply came from Ecuadorian defender Joel Ordóñez.

The result extends Lookman’s impressive form since joining Atletico in the January transfer window. The 28-year-old now has four goals and three assists in seven appearances across all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side.
