Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen delivered a decisive goal as Galatasaray eliminated Italian giants Juventus from the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, advancing to the quarter-finals in a dramatic knockout tie.
The 27-year-old, on loan from Napoli, struck in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory on the night and a 4-3 aggregate win for the Turkish champions at the RAMS Park Stadium.
Osimhen’s clinical finish, his eighth goal in the competition this season, proved the difference after Juventus had threatened to overturn the first-leg deficit. The result marks Galatasaray’s first quarter-final appearance in the Champions League since 2013.
The win continues Osimhen’s strong form since joining Galatasaray in the summer, where he has already helped the club top the Turkish Super Lig.
Galatasaray will discover their quarter-final opponent when the draw is made on Friday.
