Egbo Beach Soccer Club have etched their name in history as the first-ever champions of the Anambra Beach Soccer League, following a dominant 4–1 victory over Diligent Brothers BSC in a thrilling final at the Moonshine Beach Soccer Arena.
The newly crowned kings overcame a determined Diligent Brothers side in a tense and competitive encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The atmosphere at the arena was electric, as a large turnout of supporters witnessed high-quality beach soccer action worthy of a grand finale.
🥉 Third Place Thriller
The excitement extended to the third-place playoff, where Young Warriors BSC edged past Migcrem BSC in a pulsating 6–4 encounter to claim the bronze medal. The high-scoring clash further showcased the growing standard of beach soccer in the state.
A Major Boost for Beach Soccer Development
Beyond the on-field drama, the tournament was widely praised as a significant milestone for the development of beach soccer in Anambra State. Coaches and players commended the Anambra Beach Soccer Association for successfully organizing a competition that exposed participants to the fast-paced and unique format of the sport.
“This tournament has exposed us to a special and exciting format of the game. We are grateful for the experience and promise to spread the good news and the skills we have learned,” a team representative said.

The Coordinator of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Okwudili Awam, expressed delight at the high level of discipline, competition, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the league.
“I want to thank all the teams for their discipline and sportsmanship. I urge you all to continue being good ambassadors of beach soccer,” Awam stated.
He also extended heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Victor Madubuko, Chairman of the Anambra Beach Soccer Association and sole sponsor of the tournament, acknowledging his vision and generosity in creating opportunities for youths across the state.
“Prof. Madubuko’s vision and generosity have given the youths of Anambra a golden opportunity to explore and showcase their skills on the sand. This tournament would not have been possible without his unwavering support,” he added.
Eyes on 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League
Looking ahead, Technical Adviser Obinna Nwagba expressed satisfaction with the depth of talent discovered during the tournament.
“I am very impressed with the quality of players I have seen here. We will begin nurturing this talent immediately as we prepare to defend our title in the upcoming 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League,” Nwagba said.
With Egbo Beach Soccer Club now champions and fresh talents emerging, Anambra’s beach soccer scene appears poised for even greater achievements in the coming seasons.
