The Wuse Ward of the African Democratic Congress in Federal Capital Territory has indefinitely suspended Senator Ireti Kingibe for alleged anti-party activities and insubordination.
The decision was taken on March 10 at a general meeting attended by more than 2,000 party members and ratified by a two-thirds majority of executives present, ward chairman Kanayo Chukwu announced.
Chukwu listed the offences as confiscation of the ward register, operation of a parallel registration process, persistent absence from meetings, non-payment of statutory dues and other insubordinate acts.
“After due consideration of the above grave offences, a motion was moved by the general house for the immediate suspension of Senator Ireti Kingibe, and it was ratified by a two-thirds majority of the executives present,” he said.
The resolution has been forwarded to Abuja Municipal Area Council chairman Omale Sule, who said he would await official submission before escalating it to the state chairman.
Federal Capital Territory chairman Clement Ehijiator confirmed receipt of the report and pledged to review the allegations in line with the party constitution before sending it to national leadership.
Senator Kingibe has not issued any public comment on the suspension.
