Singer Brymo has triggered widespread criticism after declaring that any man who apologises to a woman deserves to suffer.
In a video clip that has circulated widely on social media, the artist, whose real name is Olawale Ashimi, argued that apologising in relationships undermines male authority.
“Any man who apologises to a woman deserves to suffer,” he said.
He further claimed that such behaviour sets a dangerous precedent. “Once you apologise to a woman, she will use it against you for the rest of your life,” Brymo added.
The remarks have drawn sharp condemnation from women’s rights advocates and social media users, who described them as misogynistic and outdated. Brymo has not issued any clarification or apology since the comments surfaced.
