# Dr. Alex Obiogbolu has charged youths across Anambra North Senatorial Zone to take the lead in promoting good governance by actively participating in the ongoing party membership registration.
Describing the exercise as urgent and crucial, Obiogbolu called on young people to mobilize massively in all wards across the zone, noting that the registration process may soon come to a close. He stressed that political participation begins with taking responsibility, urging the youths not to miss the opportunity to be part of the process that shapes leadership.
The senatorial aspirant encouraged youths to act as ambassadors within their communities, sensitizing, organizing, and ensuring that eligible individuals are registered. According to him, strong grassroots participation remains key to achieving credible representation and people-driven governance.
Reaffirming his commitment to youth inclusion, Obiogbolu emphasized that his vision for Anambra North is anchored on active citizen engagement, particularly among the younger generation.
He urged the youths to rise to the occasion and drive a wave of registration across the zone, describing it as a necessary step toward securing a better and more representative future for Ndi Anambra North.

Speaking in his hometown, Amikwo Village, 𝗡𝘄𝗲𝗸𝗲 made the appeal during an event where members of the revered 𝗢𝘇𝗼 𝗔𝘄𝗸𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 formally adopted 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿 as their sole candidate for the forthcoming Awka South I State Constituency election.
𝗡𝘄𝗲𝗸𝗲 stressed that it would send a negative signal if the party fails to honour his enduring loyalty, warning that denying 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿 the ticket would suggest that APGA does not reward commitment and sacrifice.
According to him, the people of Awka South are well aware of the sacrifices made by 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿 who, on several occasions, was persuaded to step aside from pursuing his political ambitions in the interest of party unity. He noted that these developments have moved beyond internal party discussions and are now widely known among the public.
He further commended 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿’s unwavering dedication, stating that despite repeated setbacks, he continued to provide financial and structural support to the party, even at times when elected officials appeared less committed.

According to the Mayor, ” Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) fast track growth and development, therefore, men of fortunes should endeavor to record their names on the sand of time by engaging in a developmental projects like construction of roads and the likes.

the construction of Okukwa Feeder Road in Amansea Community has officially commenced.
The Mayor maintained that the project is
part of his administration’s determined commitment to improving road infrastructure across Awka North LGA.
Anago noted that his administration is
taking deliberate steps to change the infrastructural narrative in communities, and that the project will not only ease vehicular movement but will also open up the community for greater economic activities, enhance connectivity and improve the daily lives of our people.
# The Ezira Improvement Union (EIU) officially decorated Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, in recognition of his extensive contributions to the community’s growth and his dedication to human capacity development.
The ceremony, held during the Ezira Day celebration in Orumba South Local Government Area, served as the centerpiece of an awards presentation honoring prominent individuals who have significantly advanced the socio-economic landscape of the town and the wider region.
The recognition highlights Dr. Onunkwo’s long-standing commitment to empowering the youth and creating sustainable career paths for the people of Orumba South and Anambra South in general.
As the Chairman and CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd, he has maintained a deep-rooted connection with the community, employing numerous Ezira indigenes within his organization. Notably, the company’s Quality Control Manager is a native of the town, reflecting a corporate culture that prioritizes local talent and community integration.
While accepting the award, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, who is currently seeking to represent the Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, expressed his gratitude to the EIU leadership for the honour.
# Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC Nnewi) ALGAF Project Team has paid a strategic advocacy visit to the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Arinze Egoh
This visit is part of the drive to strengthen transparency and accountability in local governance in Anambra State.
The delegation was led by the Director of JDPC Nnewi, Rev. Fr Ben Okolo, under the framework of the Anambra Local Governance Accountability Fellowship (ALGAF).
The visit was aimed at formally introducing the initiative to the State Assembly, showcasing its achievements so far, and seeking legislative collaboration to improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, a member of the project team, Onyekachi Ololo, described ALGAF as a structured accountability and citizen-engagement programme focused on improving transparency, performance monitoring, and public participation in local governance.
In his response, Mr. Arinze Egoh
welcomed the initiative and commended JDPC Nnewi for promoting good governance in the state, describing ALGAF as timely and relevant, especially in view of the growing demand for transparency and efficiency in grassroots administration.
# The attention of the Anambra State Government has been drawn by the Okpuru Land Landlords’ Association to alleged illegal extortion and fraudulent activities at Okpuru Land by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Eziumunya Village, Mr. Chigozie Nweke, describing the situation as a threat to peace and development in the area.
The landlords, under the umbrella of the Okpuru Land Landlords’ Association, staged a peaceful protest from Okpuru Land to the Umunya Development Union Secretariat, displaying placards with inscriptions such as “Oluatuuegwu, please come to our rescue,” “Say no to illegal levies,” and “No more intimidation in Okpuru Land.”
Addressing the protesters on behalf of the President-General of the community, the Public Relations Officer of the Umunya Development Union, Mr. Peter Onuigbo, assured them that the matter would be appropriately looked into to ensure sustained peace in the community, stressing that the union would not condone any act capable of breaching the peace.
# St Patrick Catholic Church Agulu, in Anaocha LGA has commended the Sen. Victor Umeh, for his continue commitment towards the development of the district.
They argue that Umeh’s ongoing Constituency projects across the seven LGA’s that constitute the district is a huge proof that the Senator is a God send to the district.
Umeh received the commendation during the officially launching of Ultra-modern Science Laboratory Equipments and School bus for St. Albert The Great College Agulu, owned by the Catholic Diocese of Awka, held at the Church field.
They described Umeh as a God send to the district, praising that since he emergence in 2023, the district has witnessed unprecedented development across sectors of human existence.
