Businessman and socialite Olakunle Churchill has dismissed viral reports of a divorce from actress Rosy Meurer, sensationally claiming the pair were never legally married.
The clarification follows weeks of intense social media speculation suggesting the couple’s high-profile relationship had hit the rocks. Breaking his silence in a recent statement, Churchill characterized the reports as a misunderstanding of their status, asserting that their bond was not bound by traditional or legal marriage certificates.
”People are busy talking about divorce for a marriage that never existed in the way they think,” Churchill stated. “We were never married. We have always been partners and have a child together, but there was no formal marriage to dissolve.”
The announcement has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, as the duo had long been perceived as a married couple following Churchill’s highly publicized split from his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh. Meurer had frequently referred to herself as “Mrs. Churchill” in various social media posts over the past few years.
Churchill urged the public to respect their privacy and stop fueling “baseless” rumors regarding their domestic life. He emphasized that the focus should remain on their co-parenting and mutual respect rather than “fictional” legal proceedings.
