Anambra: Obidient Movement To Support Credible Candidates In 2027 General Elections

The South-East leader of the Obidient Movement and Obidient General, Mr. Ikenga Azomchine, has called on all political parties in Anambra State contesting various elective positions in the 2027 general elections to field candidates who are competent and credible enough to win elections so as to gain the support of the movement.

Speaking during a press briefing held in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area, the Obidient General, who explained that the movement stands for competence and credibility, revealed that some serving federal legislators whom the movement elected to the National Assembly and who are seeking re-election will not return because their performance is poor, coupled with the fact that they abandoned the Obidient Movement that brought them into elective positions.

He pointed out that the Obidient Movement is an organic movement designed for good leadership and is ready to support any political party that fields competent and credible candidates for the forthcoming election.

Azomchine stated that they have invited federal legislators who rode on the popularity of the presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, Chief Peter Obi, to win elections to appear before the movement and present their scorecards, as according to him, their assessment of their performance so far has not been impressive.

On his part, the immediate past Coordinator of the Obidient Movement in Anambra State, Comrade Chidi Nzekwe, lamented that most legislators at the National Assembly whom the Obidient Movement supported to win political positions failed to keep their promises and had defected to other political parties,

Nzekwe maintained that the movement is now standing firmly for competent and credible leaders across all political parties so that they can get it right in the 2027 general elections.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
a member of the movement, Dr. Nkiruka Ezeukwu, In her remarks noted that they do not believe in political parties but in individuals who can deliver good governance to the masses.

Ezeukwu said the group are now assessing all the aspirants of the various political parties in Anambra State who want to contest the forthcoming elections to ensure that only competent and credible candidates succeed.
