Guardiola Could Leave Manchester City After Historic Decade — Report

Pep Guardiola is to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season, bringing an end to a trophy-laden decade in charge of the Premier League club.

The Spaniard will oversee the club’s final two Premier League matches against Bournemouth and Aston Villa before departing the Etihad Stadium.

City confirmed the news internally to key stakeholders ahead of a formal announcement expected on Sunday. Guardiola’s contribution will be celebrated with an open-top bus parade through Manchester on Monday.

The 55-year-old Catalan manager guided City to the FA Cup on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley, potentially his final trophy at the club.

“Guardiola has led City to six Premier League titles including an unprecedented four in a row,” the report noted, alongside one Champions League triumph, three FA Cups, five League Cups and three Community Shields.

Former Leicester and Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who previously served as one of Guardiola’s assistants at City, has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed him.

Guardiola joined City in 2016 after successful spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. His departure comes as Arsenal hold a strong position in the current title race.
