Manchester United forward Amad scored a late winner as Ivory Coast came from behind to defeat a much-changed France 2-1 in an international friendly on Thursday.
Rayan Cherki gave the hosts the lead in first-half stoppage time, but Guela Doué equalised shortly after the break before Amad completed the comeback six minutes from time.
The result represents a significant upset for the Elephants, who remain undefeated in World Cup qualifying and kept a strong defensive record heading into the 2026 tournament.
France coach Didier Deschamps made multiple substitutions at half-time, including replacing Kylian Mbappé, as the team prepares for its World Cup opener against Senegal.
Ivory Coast will face Germany in the group stage as they return to the finals for the first time since 2014.
The match at Stade de la Beaujoire drew an attendance of 33,636.
