The Anambra State Government has strengthened monitoring and supervision in the basic education sector by distributing newly acquired vehicles to officers of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB).
The Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, while handing over the vehicles to the officers, said the initiative reflects the commitment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to improving education delivery through the state’s partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Dr. Anyadiegwu explained that the vehicles were procured to improve efficiency, productivity, monitoring, and supervision across Anambra’s basic education system. She noted that effective quality assurance, project inspection, and school supervision require adequate mobility.
According to her, the shuttle buses and truck are strategic assets that will support the vision of a smart, efficient, and accountable public service. She described the vehicles as a major investment in quality basic education and urged beneficiaries to use them responsibly.
Anyadiegwu directed that the vehicles be deployed strictly for official assignments, including school supervision, monitoring and evaluation, field operations, and other administrative duties. She also emphasized the need for regular maintenance and proper servicing to ensure their durability and continued effectiveness.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Head of Quality Assurance for Awka South Local Government Area, Mrs. Ebele Iloerika, thanked Governor Soludo for what she described as a commendable and unprecedented gesture.
Mrs. Iloerika assured that the vehicles would be effectively utilized to strengthen school monitoring and supervision, improve productivity, and support better learning outcomes across basic education schools in Anambra State.
