Jude Bellingham scored a dramatic extra-time winner as England overcame Norway 2-1 to advance to the 2026 World Cup semi-finals on Saturday.
Andreas Schjelderup had given Norway the lead before Bellingham equalised with a brilliant finish. The Real Madrid midfielder then slid home the decisive goal in the first period of extra time at Hard Rock Stadium after a second Norwegian effort was disallowed for a foul by Erling Haaland.
England rode their luck at times, including a goal that stood despite the ball striking a camera during the build-up, but showed resilience to book a place in the last four. They will face either Switzerland or Argentina next.
The victory extends England’s strong run in the tournament, though manager Thomas Tuchel will seek improvements after a nervy display against a competitive Norwegian side inspired by Haaland.
