Stars Tems and Ayra Starr feature in the first official teaser for the Hollywood fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone, released on Monday.
Tems’ hit single “Me & U” soundtracks the behind-the-scenes clip shared by director Gina Prince-Bythewood on Instagram, while Ayra Starr makes a brief appearance marking her acting debut in the Paramount Pictures production.
“So excited to share a peek behind the scenes of our incredible journey to Orisha. CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE TRAILER drops TOMORROW! And in theaters Jan 15!” Prince-Bythewood wrote in the caption accompanying the teaser.
The film, adapted from Tomi Adeyemi’s 2018 bestselling novel, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha series, follows Zélie Adebola as she seeks to restore magic to her people in a West African-inspired kingdom after it was violently taken from them.
The star-studded cast includes Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amandla Stenberg and Ayra Starr.
The full trailer is scheduled for release on Tuesday, with the film set to hit theatres on January 15.
