Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election and will serve a second term.
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, representing 50.8 per cent of the 1,005,800 votes cast across the state’s 3,763 polling units.
His closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, received 444,815 votes, or 44.2 per cent, while African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam placed third with 17,180 votes.
INEC recorded 20,721 rejected ballots, about 2.06 per cent of the total votes cast. Of the 2,339,233 registered voters in the state, 81.5 per cent collected their permanent voter cards, though overall turnout stood at approximately 43 per cent.
It is the first time the Accord Party has won the governorship in Osun since its formation in 2006.
The election took place on August 15 across 30 local government areas and 332 wards, with 15 candidates on the ballot.
