Arsenal Push Osimhen for Wage Reduction Amid Galatasaray Retention

Arsenal have informed Nigeria international Victor Osimhen that he must lower his salary expectations if he is to join the Premier League champions, despite Galatasaray’s decision to keep the striker this summer.

According to reports, the Gunners remain interested in the 27-year-old forward even after the Turkish club opted to retain him during the current transfer window. Discussions over a potential deal have taken place, but Osimhen’s wage demands are seen as a significant barrier.

Arsenal “have no intention of making an unreasonable offer to Osimhen” and are unwilling to match his current Galatasaray contract, which is reported to be worth more than €20 million per year, French outlet Foot Mercato said.

The striker, who is admired by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, now faces a choice between accepting a reduced package from the London club or remaining in Istanbul beyond the summer.

Arteta is seeking one more attacking reinforcement before the transfer window closes on September 1.
