Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Liverpool in the third round of the League Cup after a emphatic 5-1 victory over Championship side Charlton Athletic on Wednesday.
The result earned Spurs a place in the last 32 of the competition, formerly known as the Carabao Cup, and set up a high-profile all-Premier League clash with the Merseyside club.
The draw, conducted after the second-round matches, produced several ties involving top-flight teams. Premier League champions Arsenal were drawn away to promoted Ipswich Town, while holders Manchester City will host second-tier Norwich City.
Manchester United were paired at home with Brighton & Hove Albion. Newcastle United, the 2025 winners, will travel to Championship side Millwall after overcoming West Bromwich Albion 3-2 earlier on Wednesday.
Fleetwood Town remain the only fourth-tier club still involved and will host Sheffield United.
Other notable pairings include Crystal Palace against Middlesbrough, Coventry City versus Aston Villa, and Everton at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The third-round ties are scheduled to be played in the weeks beginning September 7 and September 14.
