The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, has condemned the alleged killing of the children of Mrs. Ike Onyinye of Ideani and called for justice in the matter.
Mrs. Onyinye has been seeking justice following the tragic death of her children, allegedly involving her husband’s concubine.
Reacting to the incident, Onyekesi described the situation as heartbreaking, stressing that the mother’s plea for justice should not go unanswered.
“She deserves to see the person responsible for this loss held accountable, and she should receive all the support and empathy she needs to cope with this devastating loss,” the Commissioner said.
She noted that the matter was currently under investigation by the relevant authorities and expressed the ministry’s commitment to following up on the case.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting women and children and ensuring that their rights and welfare receive appropriate attention.
The ministry also pledged to provide the necessary support to the bereaved mother as she comes to terms with the devastating loss.
