All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured all 17 local government chairmanship positions and all 260 councillorship seats in Enugu State, the state electoral commission announced on Saturday.
The results were declared by Professor Christian Ngwu, chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) and chief electoral officer, after the completion of the final collation exercise.
Ngwu confirmed that APC candidates emerged winners across every local government area and all 260 electoral wards in the state.
He congratulated the successful candidates and urged them to view their victories as a call to duty and an opportunity to serve the people who elected them.
The ENSIEC chairman also praised security agencies and other stakeholders for their roles in the process, while reaffirming the commission’s commitment to free and fair elections.
The declaration formally concluded the local government polls and confirmed a complete sweep by the APC in Enugu State.
