Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has described any Igbo man supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government as “wicked”, while praising opposition figure Peter Obi as the most significant Igbo political figure in four decades after the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, made the remarks in a video posted on his social media platforms on Wednesday amid discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“Any Igbo man supporting this APC government is a wicked Igbo man. When it comes to politics in Igbo land, in the last 40 years, apart from late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, no other Igbo man has done what Peter Obi has done,” he said.
He further stated that any Igbo person who does not back Obi is “wicked and jealous”, adding that the former Anambra State governor would prevail regardless of support from the southeast.
“You all should know that with or without you, Obi will still win come January 2027,” Fayose said.
Obi, a former Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, is seeking the presidency in 2027 under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Fayose has previously identified as a supporter of the “Obidient” movement.
