Two people were feared dead on Monday as a lorry conveying bananas hit a Jeep along Nawfia, Enugu-Onitsha express way.
One of the survival of the accident told Angel network news that as their car (Toyota Highlander) was about to pass the lorry, the lorry going towards Onitsha lose control and hit their car.
The truck filled with banana went further to fall inside gully at the road side, the conductor of the lorry and one of the boys in the lorry were trapped under the lorry.
The vehicles involved in the accident are a Toyota Highlander with registration number ACA 688 PX and Mercedes 911 with registration number AH 367 UWN.
Driver of the ill-fated 911, Mr Sunny Balogun from Ogun State, who explained that he and his two colleagues, now trapped by their vehicle conveying banana from Cross River State, said occupants of the Toyota vehicle was rushed to an unknown hospital in Awka for speedy treatment.
Meanwhile, FRSC officials arrived the scene at the time of this report, trying to lift the vehicle and free those trapped. The vehicle were later taken to Nimo police station for formal investigation into the cause of the accident.
