* Anambra State Ministry of Industry has organized a meeting with the Anambra State Council on Industries. The meeting, aimed at determining a direction for the State industrial development, brought together captains of industry from the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State, as well as other relevant stakeholders, at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat complex in Awka. The Commissioner, Dr Obinna Ngonadi, stated in his opening remarks that with the theme ‘Industrial Sector as a Panacea for Development,’ the forum sought to collaborate with industrialists to strategize on how to strengthen the sector .

* Anambra state House of Assembly on Thursday held it’s last plenary session for the year 2022 with special mass held for members and at the legislative complex in Awka. Anambra Speaker Rt Hon. Uche Okafor says the rapid development of Anambra State will remain top priority of the House. He expressed gratitude to God for giving them the grace to perform their legislative duties successfully which aided accelerated development of Anambra State.

* In the spirit of Christmas, Building Material International Market, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area has disbursed the sum of eight million naira to sixteen traders in the Market who are struggling in their various businesses. It also distributed cash, food and materials worth over five million naira to the indigent people and women of the Market. The disbursement and distribution exercise took place at the Market premises during its annual end of year prayer. Among the Beneficiaries of the Food items were children from orphanage homes, persons living with disability, widows and street beggars.

* The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Anambra North District,  Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, (Osodieme) has commended  His Royal Highness Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume, MON, the traditional ruler of Omor Kingdom in Ayamelum LGA for initiating the need to have a girls school in his community. Osodieme who attended the Ofala festival on Friday while paying homage to the king stated that the need to intensify girl education is very necessary. 

* The standard bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Njikoka Constituency One in next year’s general election, Mr Chidi Ibemeka, has Inaugurated Traders Mandate Association. The inaugural ceremony which took place at Enugu-Ukwu civic center drew traders from the constituency, who collectively showed their support for the candidate. Inaugurating the association, the Chairman on the occasion, Chief Theodore Omalu who was represented by Engineer Tobechukwu Omalu described the move as the way to go in uniting and harmonizing the interests of the traders and commended the traders for speaking with one voice.

* Anambra state government has asked the would-be pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and as well be focused on the major aim of the journey which is renewing their spiritual life and praying for the state and Nigeria in general. Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while addressing the thirteen intending pilgrims of the 2022 self-sponsored pilgrimage in the conference hall at the Government House, Awka urged them to also pray elected leaders for more wisdom and direction.

* A special valedictory session has been held at the Anambra State House of Assembly in honour of the late Honourable Clifford Chukwuka. The Late Honourable Chukwuka represented Anambra South East Constituency in the old Anambra State House of Assembly between 1979 and 1983. It was a celebration of life well spent as members of Anambra State House of Assembly, family members, friends and relatives of the deceased paid him their last respects.
