Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Nonye on Monday celebrated there thirty (30) years anniversary at their country home in Isuofia, Aguata local government area.
The programme began with a Mass celebration by the Bishop of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke and gathered family, friends and well wishes.
In his homily, Cardinal Okpaleke recalled that the anniversary celebration is significant because the marriage of Professor Soludo and his wife, Money Soludo is based on the teachings of the gospel.
“Today is the feast of the death of St. Stephen, the first matryr of the apostles. The answer to the celebration is that the marriage of Soludo and his wife is on the teachings of the gospel. Stephen remains as an example of a coherent and focused life.
Okpaleke admonished that living a christian life has its challenges citing examples of the apostles who had the challenge of the people accepting their message of hope,”The early Christians succeeded because they gazed their focus on the Lord.”
He encouraged all to pray for direction and wisdom in conducting everyday affairs. “We need to have the right intention and be concerned about God’s opinion about us rather than the opinions of people. Our intention is right when Christ is the end and motives of all our actions, he said.’
Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Former Governor Willie Obiano and wife Osodieme, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Ozonkpu Victor Oye, the member representing Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, members of the State Executive Council, among others, attended the mass celebration.
