* A philanthropist, Chief John Ezeanidike has, through his foundation – the Ezeani Dike Education Foundation (EDF) and Ezeani Dike Business Foundation, empowered indigent youths in Akwaeze, Anaocha Local Government Area with tricycles, and also paid school fees of students in his community. Twenty tricycles were distributed to twenty persons in the community bringing to about one hundred, the number of tricycles distributed through Ezeani Dike Business Foundation since its creation in the past two years
* As the 2023 general election fast approaches, and candidates of the various political parties continue to visit the electorate nationwide with their campaign messages of hope, general welfare and development, Chief Dozie Nwankwo has reiterated that his main focus remains the people’s welfare, social and economic empowerment. Addressing a group of supporters who paid him New Year solidarity visit at his Campaign Headquarters in Awka, Nwankwo; popularly called Onyendozi while commending their expression of love and support for him assured them that he will continue to carry every citizen of of the Central senatorial zone along in all his programmes.
* Amanuke Development Union Lagos Branch, ADU, has appreciated the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for flagging off the Amansea-Ebenebe- Ugbenu- Ugbene- Awba Ofemmili road in Awka North Local Government Area for construction, and the pace of work on the road recently, calling for its completion in due time. The group made the commendation through the Chairman, Mr Chinedu Egwuonwu, when they paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra state council at the NUJ Secretariat in Awka.

The traditional ruler of Nawgu, Igwe George Okaa-Onwuogu (Igwe Orachili Na Nawgu), stated this at the 2022 Igua Aro/Ofala Festival of Nawgu held at the St. Michael Primary School, Nawgu, Dunukofia, Local Government Area. Igwe Okaa-Onwuogu who described Nawgu as peaceful and loving said this year’s festival is a testament to the laudable projects and positivity that has projected the community in recent times and is appreciated. He noted that society is meant for humans and nothing makes it more appreciated than the humans that constitute it.
* The 2022 Nanka Marathon powered by Nanka Youths in Diaspora, has ended as Mr. Ugochukwu Nduka and Miss Oluebube Okoli both from Enugwu village Nanka emerged winners in both male and female categories respectively. Nanka Marathon is a sporting activity initiated in 2019 by Nanka Youths in Diaspora with the vision of encouraging emerging and hidden sport talents as well as promoting mental and physical fitness among teeming youths of the community.
*The PDP flagbearer for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) federal constituency, Prince Dr Emeka Eze in furtherance of his campaign consultations was in umunnowu village Agulu today as he solicits for massive support. Prince Dr Emeka highlighted the supports he had received from Agulu people and described them as special people God has used their son Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party to bless ndị Igbo.
He further stressed the importance of observing equity and justice in our political decisions citing the marginalization of Dunukofia as they remain the only local government to represent DNA at the green chambers.
* Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS has received a brand new thirty-KVA generating set from a community leader in Akwaeze,Chief Ikenna Okafor.
Speaking during the handover of the generating set at Akwaeze in Anaocha Local Government Area Chief Okafor, who holds the title of Ide of Akwaeze, said that this is to fulfill the promise he made when the management of the establishment paid him a courtesy visit a few months ago, facilitated by Mr Emeka Okeke of the ABS.
* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency election in Anambra State, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze) in company of his brother Dr Obinna Iyiegbu (Okpataozuora) commiserated with the families of late Chief Sir C .C. Ejiofor and Late Mrs. Obiageli Ibeabuchi over the death of their loved ones. Mrs Obiageli Ibeabuchi was the mother of member representing Anambra State in Federal Character commission.
Commiserating with the families, Hon Iyiegbu stated that the deceased lived on.
* A litre of fuel is now sold between N280 and N300 in Awka, the Anambra State Capital. The development, residents say, has made them apprehensive, wondering what the cost of living will be in the year 2023. This is because the cost of transportation, food items, building materials, and other essential commodities has been hitting the roof without any regulation or control by the authorities.
* Engineer Paul Okoye has emerged the President-General of Ideani Development Union Federated in Idemili North local government Area. The Election which was supervised by Mr Henry Nwasike and team who represented the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Collins Nwabunwanne, President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo, and Security personnel among others was held at the Ideani Civic Center.
* The member representing Idemili North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Chief Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu (EbubeChukwu Uzo n’Idemili), has condoled with Obosi Community over the death of their President General, Honourable Ike Okolo who was reportedly shot dead in a petrol station on Monday, 2nd January, 2023.
In his condolence message, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate for Idemili North House of Assembly election described the deceased as a committed leader who gave his all to his Community.
*The agents of violence struck at Ndikokwu village in Uli community located in the southern district of Anambra State.
According to information gathered from the community, the unknown gunmen arrived in cars and motorcycles with assorted arms and ammunitions. They numbered over 25 and the attack was quick and rehearsed. They attacked the Anambra Vigilante Service [AVS] office in Uli, located inside the compound of the vigilante Chairman, Mr Arinze Ilobi killing a member of the AVS and setting the AVS office and vehicles on fire.
* Anambra Billionaire and Akwaeze-born philanthropist, Chief Ikenna Okafor has endowed the sum of one hundred million naira to support the growth of education for Nnamdi Azikiwe University Business School (UBS). The endowment to the UBS was made public when Chief Okafor hosted the University management and Governing Council members at his home in Akwaeze, Anaocha LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday, 3rd January 2023. Chief Okafor stated that the endowment became necessary because of the passion he has for education as Education is the bedrock upon which any society grows and develops.
* The ZLP candidate for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency in 2023 elections, Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu was present at Anaku as Umuriam youths concluded football tournament which was sponsored by an indigene of the community. The medical practitioner lauded the efforts of the sponsor for bringing initiative as such in the community. Nwachukwu reiterate his resolve in total recovering and emancipation of so many talents and potentials among Oyi and Ayamelum youths and reviving sports and making it useful to accommodate every youth that has passion for sports.
* The former Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike Global) and his wife Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme), the APGA Flagbearer for Anambra North Senatorial Election attended the requiem Mass of Late Mrs. Agbomma Mary Jane Anakor Mother of Chief Emmanuel Anakor (Kolac) at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Abba celebrated by Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese. They commiserates with the family of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the soul of Late Mrs. Agbomma Mary Jane Aniakor (Nee Obiagu) who died at the age of 96.
* Traditional ruler of Abacha, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Godwin Odiegwu has solicited the co-operation of the people of the community to ensure new era of peace and joy was enthroned after a period of retrogression.
He also pledged to uphold the sanctity of the throne as well as carry everybody along irrespective of status. Speaking through his Cabinet Secretary, Chief (Amb) Jeffery Ubah during his maiden Ofala festival celebration at Abacha Community Stadium, Odiegwu further promised to carry along his cabinet members, town unions and all stakeholders in decision making.
* Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Apga flag bearer for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha federal constituency election, Hon Pete Ibida, paid homage to prince Olisa Eze (Excellency) in his country home Ukpo in Dunukofia local government. The visit was to officially inform him and equally solicits for his support ahead of 2023 election. Ibida outpoured the purpose of his coming and equally eulogized The Prince for the wonderful things he has done through his foundation.
