First win for Liverpool in 2023 as the Reds knock out Wolves to reach the next FA Cup round
Liverpool beat Wolverhampton 0-1 at Molineux Stadium to reach the FA Cup round of 36. The winning score was the work of Harvey Elliott. Jürgen Klopp’s team continues in the oldest soccer tournament in the world.
ANN – Harvey Elliott was the winner for Liverpool when they faced Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup .
This match was Liverpool ‘s second meeting with Wolverhampton , after they drew in the first match of the third round of the FA Cup .
Liverpool did not want to be surprised by Wolverhmapton again, they tried to appear aggressive from the start of the game.
In the 13th minute, Liverpool opened their lead through Harvey Elliott ‘s goal in the 13th minute.
Liverpool tried to keep pressing but Fabio Carvalho failed to score in the 15th minute.
The Reds almost added to their goal in the 35th minute, if Fabio Carvalho had not been caught offside first.
After the second half, Carvalho had another chance, but the Wolverhampton players denied it.
Wolverhampton was not without a chance, Ruben Neves’ free kick in the 73rd minute only went up slightly.
Towards the end of the match both teams both created several opportunities.
One of them was Curtis Jones’ shot which was still wide beside the Wolverhampton goal .
Matheus Cunha also almost broke into Liverpool ‘s goal in injury time.
But the score remained 1-0, Harvey Elliott ‘s goal led Liverpool to the fourth round of the FA Cup .
