* The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has asked the electorate to look beyond political parties in their decisions on who to vote. The Prelate urged voters to focus on personalities that will guarantee justice, freedom, accountability, fear of God and love for the masses.

* Anambra State Government says it will do everything possible to see that premium motor spirit popularly called petrol is sold at normal price and filling stations who are exploiting the users of the product by adjusting their meters are punished accordingly. Anambra Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya during a meeting with Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN) and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in his office stated that the state government is committed in addressing the current scarcity of premium motor spirit across the state.

* Anambra State Governor has called on voters to vote for candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the forthcoming general elections started on the 25th of February 2023. While drumming support for APGA Candidates during a rally hosted by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko on behalf of Awka South 1 Constituency, held at Ndichie Hall, Umudioka Awka, Awka South Local Government Area, the governor appealed to electorate to keep hope alive stating that better days are ahead.

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Idemili North Constituency and the member representing Idemili North in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Chief Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu has sympathized with the family of the late Amara Nwadialor (Pikin), a staunch APGA member, describing her death as painful and regrettable. Hon Chiekwu gave his condolence at his country home, Umuoji, immediately the news of the late National Coordinator of Osodieme Obiano Grassroots Ladies filtered in. 

* Two books titled: “The Origin of Ndigbo: Exploring New Perspectives in Tracing the Black Jews of Africa” and “Replacing Faulty Ideologies: A Redefinition Of The Concept of Omenani Using Biblical and Theological Principles” have been launched in Awka. The books written by an Anglican Priest, Reverend Canon Charles Ekweozor, explore and link the world view of the origins of Ndigbo through Biblical narratives, geographical context and cultural similarities.

* APGA House of Representatives candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency Honourable Obi Nwankwo, has congratulated a former Governor of Anambra state, Dame Virgy Etiaba, for the honour done to her by Imo state university. Dame Etiaba was awarded an honourary doctorate degree in Gender Education (Honoris Causa) during the university’s recent convocation ceremony. 

According to Hon. Nwankwo, “The award of honourary doctorate degree to Dame Virgy Etiaba by Imo state University is very deserving. She has over the years been at the forefront of educational development in Nigeria through her activities with the Benneth Etiaba Group of Schools”. 

* A Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Jude Nwokolo, has re-echoed a call for Christians to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through words and actions. In his sermon at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ifite-Awka, Rev Fr Nwokolo, who is the Vicar of the Church, reminded Christians that one’s Christian identity is very important in their daily lives and places of work. He regretted that most Christians have lost their identity as light of the world and salt of the earth; evidenced in mistrust and fear among Christians, even inside the church.

* APGA House of Representatives, Idemili North and South Federal Constituency  Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu has urged Constituents to pray for peaceful and successful conduct of 2023 general elections in Nigeria. Speaking at Old Spare Parts Market, Nkpor, thel House of Representatives hopeful stated that, ‘We should pray without season, especially at this critical time in Nigeria.’ He pleaded with traders, umu Idemili and Ndi Anambra to always put God first and asked them to remember the upcoming elections in their prayers.

* A philanthropist in Ojoto, Idemili South Council area, Chief Linus Obi has put smiles on faces of thousand of daughters and wives in Enugo Village Ojoto, as he donated bags of rice, other food items and money to them. Chief Obi who thanked God for His mercies to his family, said he will continue to appreciate Him by giving back to the society.

* The Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in 2023 general election, under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, has said the Labour Party Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi has demonstrated commitment and possessed needed qualities to pilot the affairs of Nigeria.

The APGA Senatorial Candidate, who is currently representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives added by saying he is supporting Mr Peter Obi, to actualise his quest to become the next President of this country.
