* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has directed market leaders across the state to embrace government initiatives towards ensuring sustained cleanliness in various Markets.
Ibezim who is the Chairman Clean, Green and Sustainable Anambra Executive Committee gave the directive during a meeting with Market Leaders across the State at the Government House, Awka. The Deputy Governor who expressed dissatisfaction with the indifferent attitude towards the environment by traders in the State who use wastes generated from their daily activities in the Markets to block waterways and other illegal dump sites, said that such attitude will no longer be tolerated by the present administration as it militates against the clean, green, sustained and prosperous Anambra target.
* Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Sir Basil Ejidike has appealed to aggrieved party members in the state to join hands with the State Working Committee to work towards the emergence of an APC Governor in Anambra State come 2025. ANN reports that Ejidike made the appeal following an Anambra State high court reaffirming his state working committee as duly elected.
* The Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Honourable Patrick Onyedum has assured of accelerated sports development under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo. Onyedum while speaking in Awka, said the Governor had broken new grounds in all sectors including sports under one year. The Sports Development Commission Chairman called on youths in Anambra State to participate actively in sports as the Governor Soludo administration promises to provide the environment for them to take their talents to the world stage.
* The Anambra State Government has commenced a three-day training for officials of Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency as part of measures to tackle the worsening problem of gridlocks and lawlessness on roads in the state. The training which is ongoing at the NYSC Orientation Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu is led by Managing Director of the agency, Engr. Emeka Okonkwo. The training will ensure that the permanent staff of the agency and 180 ad-hoc officers engaged by the agency are properly equipped with modern skills and best practices in traffic management and control.
* The Anambra state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to consolidate on the gains of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, in order that his government would benefit the people of Nigeria. This was contained in a message issued in Awka by the state publicity secretary of the party, Okelo Madukaife, to congratulate Tinubu on his 71st birthday anniversary.Â
* Chairman of South East Chapter of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mrs Ada Chukwudozie has laud the achievements of the Governor of Anambra Professor Chukwuma Souldo in the past one year stating that state is fast becoming an industrial hub. ANN reports that Mrs Chukwudozie while speaking in a presentation at International Convention Centre, Awka, during the ceremony marking Soludo’s one year in office maintained that the impetus of flagship policies introduced by the Anambra Governor administration has improved the manufacturing sector.
* The Provost Anambra state College of Health Technology, Obosi, Dr Daniel Ezeobi says within one year in office, Ndi Anambra have witnessed a unique style of governance led by Professor Chukwuma Souldo that have brought many innovations, engendered aggressive road infrastructural development and entrenched robust intervention in all sectors. Dr Ezeobi noted that Governor Soludo’s intervention in such critical sectors like health, education, power and employment which he said are key to development and sustainable growth remain quite commendable.
* Commissioner for Education Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has urged the Anambra State students who will participate in 2023 World Student Debate coming up later in Malaysia to make the state and country proud.
ANN reports that Chuma-Udeh gave the hint during a media forum in Awka the state capital. The education commisioner while explaining that arrangements are being concluded to make the state’s participation grand in reflection of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s Midas touch in Anambra’s basic education sector, said this will also help the state’s contingent sweep the prizes and awards at the debate.
* A woman by name Chidimma Amaechi has delivered Quintuplets in Awka the capital of Anambra. Mrs Amaechi delivered three boys and two girls at Life Hospital Awka, Anambra state recently.
* The Accountant General of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli has charged Directors of Accounts in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to embrace the act of delegating responsibilities to their subordinates to enhance productivity and achieve the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for Anambra State. Dr. Okolie made the call during a training programme organized by his office for Directors and Deputy Directors of Accounts in MDA’S held at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
Dr. Okoli explained that the programme was designed to update them on how they could key into the blueprint of Governor Soludo.
