ADC Gives INEC Four Demands, Threatens Court Action

The African Democratic Congress has issued a four-point ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission, demanding immediate reversal of recent decisions on party leadership recognition and warning of legal action if the demands are ignored.

ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu said the party would not tolerate what it described as selective and unlawful interference by the electoral body.

“We have given INEC a clear four-point demand. If they fail to act, we will have no choice but to approach the courts,” Nwosu stated.

He added that the commission must restore recognition to the party’s authentic leadership and stop what he called “arbitrary declarations of vacant seats” following defections.

The ADC has been embroiled in leadership disputes, with rival factions claiming control and INEC’s recent rulings favouring one group. The party described the situation as a threat to democratic pluralism ahead of the 2027 general elections.

INEC has not yet responded to the ultimatum.
