The local government chairman of Aguata, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike has been honoured with an Award of Appreciation for his leadership and contributions to the development of the area.
The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Samuel Ezeofor, presented the award at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Achina, during activities marking the 10th anniversary of the dedication of the church building, curate’s quarters and vicarage.
Presenting the award, Bishop Ezeofor commended Ofobuike for his commitment to the development of the local government and his responsiveness to the needs of residents.
The bishop described the mayor’s leadership as people oriented and worthy of recognition, urging him to sustain his commitment to service.
Responding, Dr. Ofobuike described the honour as a call to greater service and pledged to continue working in the interest of the people.
“I consider this honour a call to do more for our people and provide quality representation to Aguata Federal Constituency. With God, we will make our people proud,” he said.
Ofobuike also joined worshippers at the Baptist Church, Ekwulobia, for thanksgiving and prayers, where he reaffirmed his commitment to remaining accessible and responsive to the people.
The Mayor said effective leadership required availability, listening and genuine engagement with the people, while praying for continued wisdom and grace to make a positive impact on their lives.
