Anambra Assembly considered 100billion naira global limit multiple unction term loan facilities for infrastructural development in Anambra State.
Recall that Angel Network News had reported that the Anambra Assembly had received a letter from the governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, dated 5th July 2022.
The letter was referred to the Anambra Assembly house committee on public account to check and report back to Anambra assembly for scrutiny.
The chairman of the committee on public account Somtochukwu Udeze expressed that two commissioners of Anambra State were invited for dellebration.
The commissioner for budget and economic planning and the commissioner for finance were invited by the Anambra State house of assembly committee on public account, they had a bilateral discussion on terms of the loan, how the loan would be secured and area’s of infrastructure’s the loan will be used for.
The commissioners provided the following recommendation to the committee
‘The proposed projects descriptions, expected cost of each budget expected to be funded with the loan for its oversight subsequently’
‘The need for more emphasis on increase in internal generated revenue drive to further minimize borrowing to fund development in Anambra State’
The committee also recommended that the loan be secured as advised for visible infrastructural development alone.
Honorable Pete Ibida member representing Njikoka 2 constituency moved a motion that Anambra Assembly adopt the report of the committee on public account and the motion was seconded by honorable Nnamdi cater Duke Umeh.
Anambra Assembly after due consideration do approve that Anambra State government secures 100billion naira global limit, multi unction term loan facility for infrastructure development in Anambra State.
The Anambra house of assembly plenary was adjourned to Tuesday the 26th of February 2022.
Meanwhile in today’s plenary, Barrister Cynthia Idemobi was appointed the acting deputy Clark on legislative purposes for Anambra State house of assembly.
