Anambra State Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has called on the Houses of Assembly in the South-East Zone to enact a regional law that will foster sustainable development in the five South-Eastern States as well as the collective well-being of Ndigbo in general.
In his Goodwill Message to Ndigbo on the 2025 Igbo Day Celebration, held at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, Rt. Hon. Udeze extolled the efforts of the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo towards building an egalitarian Igbo nation, adding that with concerted efforts of prominent Igbo citizens, Ndigbo will continue to excel in all their endeavours.
The Speaker who noted with satisfaction the giant contributions of the foremost Igbo nationalists to the growth and development of the country, with particular reference to the first President of Nigeria, Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe among other Igbo patriots, enjoined Ndigbo to rediscover those encouraging Igbo attributes and strive to be united and share love and peace at all times.
The State Number One Lawmaker, Udeze called on affluent Igbo citizens especially captains of industry to invest in Igbo land to enhance job opportunities among Igbo youth and overall development of the region, commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his unprecedented rediscovery, patronage and promotion of the Igbo Native Akwaete Clothe which other Igbo Governors are emulating.

Udeze while thanking the organizers of the 2025 Igbo Day Celebration for a successful event, urged notable stakeholders in Igbo land to see maximum security of lives and property of Ndigbo as a collective responsibility by contributing meaningfully to address the menace of insecurity in the zone.
