Anambra Budget Defense Commences As Ministries Appears Before Committees

 

…If Anambra have reliable data, government will be able to plan well

Anambra commissioner for budget and economic planning Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake says the state government has been working with the world bank to achieve the vision and mission of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as regards developing the economy of the state.

Nnake made these statement while speaking with newsmen after the bilateral budget defense at the Anambra state house of assembly on Tuesday November 22nd 2022. 

According to the commissioner; “We are looking for technical support because we could have the fund and not make the exert impact. 

Speaking about the budgeted 1.2 billion fund for the purchase of vehicles for Anambra state house of assembly members, Nnake states that the lawmakers who are an arm of government are entitled to the vehicle which enables them to function and perform there duties. 

Throwing more light on the implementation of the reverse budget, the Commisioner stated that the reverse budget was mainly on road construction and that numerous flag off by the state government have been made and that she expects better performance. 

While making clearification on the 27.7 million naira budgeted for local trainings and 720 million for traveling and transportation of the local trainings, Nnake revealed that the capital expenditure are for capacity building all through and that it’s not all trainings that are captured in the budget.

Mr. Obiora Obiabumma

Managing Director Anambra state bureau of statistics Mr. Obiora Obiabumma on his part after the defense, told house correspondents that the agency is aiming at authomating the system considering the fact that we are at the 21st century and that technology is the order of the day which is why Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is focused on improving technology and saving cost.

In his words “We are working on collecting and analysing these data so that the state government will function better because if you have reliable data, government will be able to plan well and funds will be allocated properly. Going forward, there will be reliable and up to date data in Anambra.

Chairman house committee on finance and appropriation Hon. Obinna Chris Emeneka assured the commisioner for budget and economic planning and also to the Managing Director Anambra state bureau of statistics that the 7th assembly will do everything in it’s power to ensure that Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration succeed. He urged them to contribute there quitter towards moving the state forward.
