Anambra Education Ministry Mobilises Stakeholders For Annual School Census

The Anambra State Ministry of Education has mobilised key education stakeholders to ensure that all schools across the State complete the 2025/2026 Annual School Census before the stipulated deadline.

The mobilisation meeting, held at the
Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) Utility Hall, Awka, focused on improving compliance and ensuring timely submission of school data through the designated DNEMIS platform.

Representing the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, urged stakeholders to intensify efforts to ensure that all public, mission and private schools complete and upload their required data.

Agbaizu stressed the importance of accurate and comprehensive school data to effective education planning, informed government decision-making and access to education intervention programmes, including Federal Government interventions linked to submitted data.

The Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, represented by the Director of Legal Services, Barrister Eucharia Ohuoha, also encouraged participants to familiarise themselves with the census requirements and provide necessary support to schools within their areas.

The Director of Planning, Statistics and Research, Mr. JC Aghanya, said more efforts were needed to achieve full compliance across the State, emphasising the importance of accurate and timely submission of education data.

The meeting also featured a practical training session on completing the Annual School Census through the DNEMIS platform, particularly for stakeholders who missed earlier training sessions or required additional guidance.

The exercise is expected to strengthen the quality of education data available to the State and support more effective planning and delivery of education services.
