Anambra Governorship Election: INEC Accredits 76 Media Organisations, 508 Journalists

…adhere to the Code of Conduct for Election Coverage : INEC urges Journalists

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the accreditation of seventy-six (76) media organisations to cover the Anambra State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

In a document signed by the secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the accredited organisations comprise over five hundred and eight (508) journalists drawn from broadcast, print, and online media platforms across Nigeria and beyond.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the accreditation, according to INEC, followed the fulfilment of all stipulated requirements by the various organisations.

Distribution of Media Tags to accredited Media organisations will commence at the International Press Centre, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Complex, behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Awka, from Monday, 3rd to Thursday, 6th November 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

INEC reminded accredited journalists to strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct for Election Coverage, warning that the Commission reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the accreditation of any media organisation whose representatives violate established guidelines or engage in unprofessional conduct during the election.

The Commission also disclosed that some media organisations have been granted access to the Collation Centre to ensure transparent and comprehensive coverage of the collation of results. These organisations are expected to comply with all security and operational protocols as issued by the Commission.

Among the accredited organisations are the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Channels Television, TVC Communications, DAAR Communications, Arise News, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Channel 5 Awka, BBC News, Premium Times, Punch, The Guardian, The Sun, Vanguard, and the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), among others.

For further enquiries, INEC advised media representatives to contact the Director, Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
