Anambra State Ministry of Justice has prepared and transmitted the “Anambra State Correctional Services Bill” to the state House of Assembly for consideration and eventual passage into law.
The Attorney General of the state and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, who spoke after transmitting the bills to the state legislature, described them as innovative.
Ifemeje further explained that the enactment of the Correctional Service bill will ensure humane and effective management of offenders.
On the proposed Criminal law, Prof. Ifemeje said that it will help in introducing groundbreaking innovations in the state criminal justice system in line with international best practices.
