The member representing Aguata One Constituency, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, has constructed a modern six-room toilet facility with running water at Girls High School, Uga in Aguata Local Government Area.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the project was commissioned by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, who was represented by the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Associate Prof. Vera Nwadinobi.
Hon. Okpalaeke in his speech said the initiative was born out of the need to provide students especially the girl child—with access to proper sanitation and emphasized that access to basic amenities is a right, and expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his impactful educational policies and ongoing developmental efforts in Aguata and the entire state.
In her address, ASUBEB Chairman, Associate Prof. Nwadinobi thanked the lawmaker for the timely intervention, describing it as a valuable support to the Governor’s free education policies,
In their separate remarks the traditional ruler of Uga, Igwe Chidi Ezenwugo, and the President General of Uga, Nze Romanus Umenze and the Principal of Girls High School, Uga, Dr. Grace Umezinwa commended Okpalaeke for attracting the dividends of democracy through his representation.
