Anambra Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya has charged the state workforce to assist Governor Chukwuma Soludo in his drive to achieve his mission and vision for the state by being productive and content creators.
Angel Network News reports that the Commissioner gave the charge while briefing the staff of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on the ministry’s breakthroughs in 2023 as he unveiled 2024 set targets.
According to Ifeanya, Anambra State Petroleum and Energy Resources Limited and Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company Limited which are two companies designed to drive the ministry’s mandate were successfully incorporated in 2023 while ANSOPADEC bill, for oil producing areas is before the State House of Assembly.
He opined that in 2024, it is the ministry’s hope that Governor Soludo will graciously appoint boards for the two incorporated companies, provide office accomodations with required mobilization for them to fully kick off every activity in the ministry after they must have secured their licences and partners.
Briefing the staff further, Commissioner Ifeanya noted that for Anambra State to have been listed as the tenth oil producing states in Nigeria with its corresponding 13% derivation that started in July 2022, only four Oil wells out of the present thirteen in the state are active, hence, calling for prospective investors.
He implored staffers to be patient, adding that as a new service ministry, saddled with the responsibility of generating wealth and creating employment, tremendous amount of invisible achievements, which he described as strong foundation are being laid for their betterment and that of Anambra State in general.
