Chief Willie Obiano the governor of Anambra State was present In today’s plenary, honorable members bid the governor Chief Willie Obiano farewell as he leaves office on Thursday.
Hon. Nnamdi Okafor, the majority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly, member representing Awka South 1 Constituency read the citation for Governor Willie Obiano.
He stated the numerous achievements and accomplishment of Governor Willie Obiano which includes:
Today, the House is happy that the Governor accomplished legacy projects that wrote his name in the sands of time.
It is on record that the Obiano administration is the administration that in the history of the state constructed the Anambra International and Cargo Airport at Umueri, Anambra International Convention center, Awka and Awka city stadium.
Besides, the Obiano administration excelled in the areas of security, Agriculture, Education, road construction, industralization, prompt payment of workers salaries and gratuity to pensioners among others. Worthy of note is that the construction of three flyovers in Awka capital territory and construction of community choose your project initiative in all the communities across the state are also remarkable projects of Governor Willie Obiano.
With all these achievements recorded in the state by the Obiano administration, the House found him worthy to be honoured and to thank him for taking the state to an enviable height.
Hon Pete Chima Ibida member representing Njikoka 2 constituency commends the legendary performance of the governor.
Commenting on the issue of national threat which is insecurity , Hon Ibida brag that the governor came into power under 6 months and institutionalize sanity in Anambra State.
He added that the issue of insecurity in Anambra State has been averted because the issue of kidnapping that parades in South south and south east those day’s, mostly in Anambra State has been laid still.
He further expressed his Joy over Obiano’s regime, he said that gone are those days that you can’t come home with clean cars, sleep in your house peacefully, rather one resort to staying in Shanti hotels just to escape from hoodlums.
He also pointed out that Obiano started carrying out his security work from Aguleri his hometown. Showing that even his own people involved in the insecurity of Anambra state .
He close his remark by saying that Obiano is a gallant leader, who make sure that Anambra State is counted among one of the oil and gas producing state.
Ijele Nando, Hon; Obinna Chris Emenaka, member representing Anambra east constituency bids farewell to Obiano by first praising and calling him a great man, an accomplish gentle man, and a man he described as a symbol of legacy.

Hon Ejike Okechukwu member representing Aniocha 2 constituency appreciate the governor for his enormous support in the basic education unit.
He said that his colleagues from other states envy him because of their numerous wins and this is achieved by the governor.
Hon Somtochukwu Udeze member representing Ogbaru 2 constituency asserted that the governor did his best for Anambra State.
He opined that for the past 8years the governor did not change his personality and he is proud of it.
He said that the governor have touched virtually all the areas that needed to be touched in Anambra State, starting from agriculture, health, infrastructure and youth empowerment.
He added that Anambra is blessed to have Obiano as a governor.
Saying that the best thing that the governor did was the support he gives his successor in person of Prof. Charles Soludo .
In addition he said that coming from the opposition party, he has not seen the governor discriminate. That he carries the need of each constituency down to the grass root level.
Hon Lawrence C Ezeudu member representing Dunukofia constituency in his farewell statement, stated that Obiano is a man full of empathy.
He added that Obiano is a visionary Leader, Anambra state will soon have airport school and also higher institutions in the state like UNIZIK will be able to produce good petroleum engineering student, due to the Anambra cargo airport and also the production of petroleum in Anambra State.
Hon Beverly Ikpeazu Nkemdiche member representing Onitsha south 2 constituency bid goodbye to governor Willie Obiano.
She said thank you to the governor, telling him that he has done his bid and he should know that government is a continue and when the incoming government comes they will continue.

The honorable speaker Uche Okafor commend the governor stating that throughout his tenure there was no rift between the legislature and the executive arms of government.
He appreciates the governor for giving expeditious attention on the motions and bills raised by the members of the 7th Assembly.
He also pointed out the 20 million chose your community project that Obiano introduced to Anambra state.
The speaker prayed that God guide and protect the governor and his family as he bows out from office this Thursday.

He thanked them specially for the 21 over 21 victory won in his election and also the 19 over 21 victory in his transition election that brought in Prof. Soludo, the Governor Elect.
