The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on his appointment as the Anambra State Coordinator of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
Soludo, who is the National Leader of APGA, was described by the party as a leader whose commitment to progressive ideals and consistent advocacy for strategic partnership between APGA and the Federal Government have advanced the collective interests of Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo at large.
In a statement signed by APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The statement read: “As a party, APGA has made its position clear. At our National Executive Committee meeting and during Mr President’s working visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025, we formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. In line with this resolution, APGA did not field a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.”
The party described Governor Soludo’s mantra, “Progressives are Working Together,” as more than a slogan, saying it reflects what it considers a shared ideological foundation between APGA and the progressive movement at the centre.
It added that the partnership had yielded benefits for Anambra State through federal collaboration on critical infrastructure and other economic development initiatives.
Reaffirming its political position ahead of the 2027 general election, APGA stated: “While APGA remains firmly in control of Anambra State, our position remains: In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.”
The party expressed confidence that Soludo would deploy his organisational capacity, political experience and broad acceptance across the Southeast to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Indeed, Progressives are Working Together!” the statement declared.
APGA concluded by congratulating Governor Soludo, whom it referred to as “Oluatuegwu Anambra,” and members of the party on the appointment.
