APGA Primary: Agbodike, Ngobili, Iloh Win Ihiala Reps, Anambra Assembly Tickets

Ahead of January 16th, 2027 general elections, the lawmaker representing Ihiala Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Paschal Agbodike have been elected as candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in the just concluded party primary held statewide, on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026.

Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
Agbodike scored 4,791 votes to defeat his only rival, Mr Madakolam Akachukwu who scored 42 votes.

For Ihiala One Constituency, the Chief Whip of Anambra State House of Assembly, Barrister Jude Chimezie Ngobili score 1, 531 votes to defeat two other contesters, Mr Uzoma Charles, who had 5 votes and Edwin Ejike, who got 4 votes respectively.

For the Ihiala Two Constituency, Hon Eze-Golden Chukwuemeka Iloh score 3,359 votes to defeat his only challenger, Mr. Onyekachi Divine who scored 152 votes.

The results were announced at the Ihiala Local Government Area Conference Hall Ihiala by the returning officers of the three successful candidates, Mr. Okechukwu Emereonye (announced for Federal Constituency), Mr Iloanya Okechukwu ( announced for Ihiala Constituency 1) and Chief Godwin Udu (announced for Ihiala Constituency 2) respectively.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Security personnel and the media were present during the collation and announcement of the results.

Rt. Hon. Agbodike, in his acceptance speech on behalf of Ngobili and Iloh, commended Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA National Working Committee, the people of Ihiala, the returning officers, INEC officials, security personnel and the media for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful, fair, just, credible and transparent process across the 20 political wards that constitute the local government area.

Agbodike appealed to ndi Ihiala to also come out en masse as they did during the primary and vote for APGA to enable them continue from the good work they are doing for the grow and development of Ihiala Local Government Area.

The Federal lawmaker described the exercise as more peaceful compared to previous elections in the area.
It was gathered that the three newly elected candidates are returning for their second term in office.
