Asake apologized to his audience and cited his promoters as the cause of his tardiness for a Birmingham performance.

Fans of the artist could be seen booing him for arriving late to the UK gig in a viral video.

Asake apologized for the delay to the Birmingham supporters on Twitter on Sunday.

The Afropop star, while giving his reasons, added that he was “grateful” for their “patience”.

Asake said his show promoters “delayed” his pickup time, hence his late arrival.

“Birmingham I’m sorry for the delay yesterday,” the singer’s tweet reads.

“The promoters delayed my pick-up time for reasons best known to them.

“But I’m super grateful for your patience and understanding.”

Asake ventured into music at a very young age.

After years as a budding artiste, he started to attract attention with the release of his hit song ‘Lady’ in 2020.

He was signed to the YBNL record label in February 2022, releasing ‘Ololade’, his four-track debut EP.

The singer has continued to enjoy positive reception since he released his debut album last September.

The body of work, titled ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’, occupied the first 12 spots on Apple Nigeria’s top 100 chart.

Asake is a graduate of theatre and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
