Assets Declaration Form Shows Buhari’s Animals Reduced, Has No Debts

The assets declaration form recently submitted by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari shows he incurred no debt but a decrease in the number of his animals.

This is contained in a tweet by former presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, entitled, ‘Former President Buhari Submits Assets Declaration Form, Shows Zero Debt.”

He said, “The completed declaration shows that his movable assets did not increase, at home in Nigeria or outside, and did not add new bank accounts outside the only one he had in Union Bank, Kaduna. He has taken no loans and has no liabilities.

“The number of animals on his farm recorded a little decrease due to the number he gave out as gifts in the last four years.”

Shehu said Buhari’s submission to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) was in line with Chapter 6 of the Nigerian Constitution, 1999.

The CCB acknowledgement receipt dated May 31, 2023, issued to Buhari was signed by the chairman of the CCB, Prof. Mohammed Isah, with serial number 000004.

ANN recalls that Buhari had in May 2019 declared in his assets form to the CCB, the sum of N30 million in Union Bank, five houses and 270 heads of cattle, including five horses, 25 sheep, birds, economic trees, an orchard and a ranch.

The assets were not too different from his declaration in 2015, where he also declared that the five houses included two mud houses in Daura, and two undeveloped plots of land in Kano and Port Harcourt.
