The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Mr. Mike Ozoemena has cautioned residents against burning wastes Indiscriminately as it might lead to fire outbreak.

Mr. Ozoemena appealed to ndi Anambra not to play with fire especially during this dry harmattan season, stating that they should dispose waste property since Anambra State government had made waste disposal easy.
The ASWAMA Boss said that the administration of Governor Charles Soludo CFR has made it easy for every household by taking the wastes to a designated refuse dump, saying that this is to ensure that the state is rid of refuse and kept clean and safe from fire outbreaks.
Ozoemena who is also the convener of Soludo Volunteer Force (SVF), maintained
that residents had no reason to burn waste, noting that the agency continually carries out enlightenment Programmes to educate people on proper refuse disposal in order to curb Indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
He added that harmattan season is a catalyst to fire outbreaks as such residents should under no circumstances engage in burning of refuse Indiscriminately.
He also charged ndi Anambra to always do the needful and be responsible for their waste disposal in the state.
