Barcelona have signed German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in a deal that bolsters their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Sources familiar with the negotiations told ESPN the transfer is worth an initial €22 million ($25 million), with up to €7 million ($7.9 million) in performance-related add-ons. Dortmund will also receive a percentage of any future profit if the player is sold on
Adeyemi, 24, joins the Spanish champions after four seasons at Dortmund, where he scored 36 goals in 146 appearances following his arrival from RB Salzburg in 2022. He becomes Barcelona’s second major signing of the summer after England winger Anthony Gordon arrived from Newcastle United for €70 million.
Barça coach Hansi Flick was particularly eager to secure the versatile forward, having handed him his Germany debut during his time in charge of the national team. Adeyemi can operate across the front line, adding depth to a squad featuring Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Ferran Torres.
Despite the new arrivals, sources indicated Barcelona remain in the market for a dedicated No. 9 striker to further strengthen their forward line.
